The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment live concert stream

The 2 live concert internet TV broadcasts with IC247 and the OAE conducted by David Zinman recently were a resounding success. The 8th of February live from the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the South Bank Centre, London, UK received over 11,000 live viewers and many, many comments and lots of live interaction via Twitter and Facebook on the Ustream social stream. With a 4 camera broadcast, the young conductor Kevin Griffiths assisting with production and direction and the marketing people from the OAE manning the live interaction with the thousands of live viewers, it set the tone for a fabulous online stream.

A few days later we streamed again with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, conducted by Maestro David Zinman, live from the Anvil, Basingstoke. Over 14,000 live viewers took part online by watching, listening and interacting via the live chat, Twitter and Facebook. The sound from the Anvil was amazing and all enjoyed the concert.

The 2 live stream concerts from the UK tour saw the OAE, an orchestra which plays only original “Baroque” instruments, so one hears the music as the conductor originally intended, playing the following:

Mendelssohn Overture, Intermezzo, Nocturne and Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Weber Clarinet Concerto No 1 in F minor
Beethoven Symphony No.7

David Zinman conducting Beethoven`s 7th really needs to be heard! Even if you know nothing about classical music, this piece stirs the soul – just ask the thousands who watched and listened last week!
